The Kindergaten Program at Mountainside
Low Ratios
At Mountainside, we pride ourselves on providing quality care and education. Our low student to teacher ratios provides individualized, one on one attention missing from larger programs.
Bright Spacious Classrooms
Our classrooms include state of the art materials including computers, audio listening stations, and classroom libraries. Our spacious classrooms are clean, organized, open, and welcoming.
Emphasis on Social and Emotional Wellness
Your child's needs, interests, and happiness are a top priority at Mountainside. Daily activities to encourage positive peer relations and interactions are part of our every day curriculum.
Developmentally Appropriate Instruction
Our program utilizes Everyday Mathematics, a developmentally appropriate, research based mathematics program used in schools all over the nation. Everyday Mathematics encourages logical thinking skills pertinent in today's world, and consistent with local school area expectations.
In addition, Mountainside utilizes Phonics Fundamentals, the same program used by local school systems. Phonics Fundamentals provides a multi-sensory approach to developing reading strategies.
Experienced and Educated Staff
Your child will develop a love of learning from our experienced and educated teaching staff. Our teachers hold bachelor degrees from accredited university programs, and are also enrolled in master's degree programs.
Parent Communication
Mountainside is a family based program which welcomes parent feedback and involvement. Weekly newsletters, parent/teacher conferences, and daily check-ins with your child's teacher are just a few of the ways Mountainside is able to keep you connected with your child's progress and routines.
Weekly Specials and Enrichment
In addition to high standards and quality education, Mountainside provides weekly specials in music, art, yoga, and physical education.
Convenience
Mountainside is a full day, year round program open 7:45 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. We offer a summer camp from mid June through late August.
